Coining their own genre Afro Soul Tronic, Siselabonga weaves together diasporic African roots (afro), emotional depth and intensity (soul), and experimental electronic textures (tronic). The result is a rich, emotionally-charged sound that is vibrant, sensual, and deeply resonant — music that moves both body and spirit.
«Halo’s Glitter» is a powerful offering — a sonic journey grounded in accountability and spiritual evolution. The duo dives into complex themes: paternal authority, emotional security, sexuality and transcendent experiences. Each track is anchored by Nongoma’s soulful, expressive vocals and Fabio’s groove-driven, idiosyncratic percussive landscapes.
Like French-Cuban duo Ibeyi, Siselabonga channel ancestral depth through modern sound; like Swedish shapeshifters Little Dragon, they blur the lines between Pop and Experimental; like London’s Summer Pearl, their voices hold a raw and resonant emotional truth — and yet Siselabonga remain unmistakably themselves.
For the studio Siselabonga teamed up with Josh Meck (Zimbabwe) on bass, Yannik Sandhofer (Germany/Switzerland) on mix and co-production, Modise Sekgothe, the South African performance poet and Joe Hutchinson (Nashville) on mastering.
